I still maintain that some of these cases were so blatantly ridiculous (fresh 90's in greens with one kill EVER) that this whole thing was orchestrated by a group of players disgusted by the the fact Blizz seemed not to consider fixing cheating or boosting a priority.

They created throw-away accounts and boosted their ratings to ridiculous levels to spotlight the issue - making it impossible to ignore. They were fully aware these throw-away accounts would be banned once the issue finally got attention. But that was their goal in thei first place.

Think of it as corpse art (the dead and banned accounts being the corpse) except on a huge scale and played out on the stage of the RBG Ladder.
